The latest pictures show how conditions can change in a few days. Between my and Primož's picture only 3 days passed, but the conditions are significantly different. Today it might already be all dry.
Therefore it's best if you decide yourself based on current conditions whether to go on or not. It's not hard for me to turn back if I assess it's too dangerous. The mountains will wait.

I am lucky to have practically an open view from the bedroom on the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Then it's easier to decide whether to go or not. nasmeh

Primož, you're a real LUCKY ONE for our parts!
When it's nice weather here, I see Boč, Konjiško gora, Pohorje, Kozjak and
KORALPE-Austrian GOLICA, as they call it.
From this panorama I can myself in this time, without calls to your areas, decide for some tour!
Without calls it still doesn't stay!
For planned tour I call Jure at Okrešelj!
I get data first-hand!
Ciao Jure and home crew at Okrešlju!!

Primož: Can you tell how much snow you see from the bedroom on KSA peaks? nasmeh

Thanks in advance for the answer.

No first-hand info. Yesterday I went to Brana over Šija and down Bosova grapa. No snow. Except some little on north side. See picture.

From the car I noticed the white roof of Grintovec, but it's already visible to the eye that there's less than in the Julian Alps.

Yesterday (9.11.2008) there was 10 cm of snow on Grintovec summit. In the morning everything was white already at 2000 m, later the snow line rose quickly.

Why so impatient about snow? Wait till the precipitation passes, then we'll see how much snow there is, what kind it is, and why there is snow. Then happily to the mountains. Nice and slow. Lp Francnasmeh

According to cameras, snow line now in Julians at 1700m, in Kamniks above 1800m. Lots of snow drifted on Višarje, i.e. west part of Julians. As Mr.Franc said, wait for clearing and mountain conditions assessment! With half meter snowpack, local avalanches possible, ice axe on route, crampons in high mountains, on demanding tours.

yesterday 26.4. my buddy and I conquered Turska gora through Turski couloir! we started at the turning place at 5:30 snow was rotten everywhere except in Turski couloir it was firm.
at Turski couloir entrance two alpinists overtook us and together we went up. they turned due to bad conditions we two along the ridge roped reached Turska gora! still mandatory winter gear (ice axe, crampons) and helmet big risk of falling rocks in the couloir itself! nice greetings!

Sincere congrats for the summit. But I'd add, you never conquer the mountain, you ascend it and are happy it let you down to its feet.

Anyone been recently to Turska gora via Kotliči? Are Kotliči passable?
