mlah018. Not mandatory, but good to have a via ferrata kit.

I had a via ferrata kit on this path last year, but if I'd fallen, I don't know how it would've held me all together. nasmeh This year I'll repeat, but without via ferrata kit, as it's pretty unnecessary if you're used to heights and walking on ledges.

Through the gully (04.03.23)

In this area quite a lot of snow has fallen in recent days, deposited lower down. From Okrešelj onwards very difficult for hikers, easier on skis and snowshoes. Skiers made a nice zigzag line, I went straight to the gully. Midway in the gully needed to stow snowshoes or skis. Base was a bit harder, but still nice sinking. From exit to top of Turska gora poetry in terms of weather and conditions. Descent was quite rapid.
it was quite awkward to walk there in the morning1
even before Okrešlj I was in another forest on the right :)2

On Sunday we went from Logarska Valley via the gully to Turska gora.

The road is drivable to the Hut under Rinka Waterfall, where we parked. To Okrešelj a nice path, in the morning still a bit icy but manageable without issues. Further on more fresh snow, but good track. On the way we also heard some avalanches from below Kamnik Saddle. In the gully nice steps made so we put on crampons only midway. At the top of the gully strong wind and fog appeared, so no views. The ridge to the top of Turska gora is windblown and good to walk. Downhill conditions quite bad for walking as it sank to the knees at every step.

Hi! Does anyone know if the path from bivouac below Skuta onwards (to Turska gora and Rinka) is dry yet? Thanks!

Turska gora is dry, Rinka amphitheater will be snowy for at least two more weeks, but slope not too steep and nice exitjezik

Urška Kolenc, the gully is still solidly snowed in, snow from the big rock before the cables almost to the top of the gully. Photo today

Yesterday from Logarska over Turski žleb. Ideal conditions, sun, warm, only occasionally some cold wind, for me this is the best time for mountains, no need to get up at three in the morning, the day is still quite long. I walked also to Mala Rinka and rested at the views. Lots of chamois, ibex, ptarmigans, also plenty of hikers and I happily notice that girls of all ages predominate.
From Turska gora over Kotliče, where I went directly down the gully. The descent from Turska itself is strenuous for me, the gully isn't innocent either. Towards Kamniško sedlo there was quite some traffic and at three they were still ascending towards Okrešelj. The hut at Okrešelj looks nice, hope they finish it next year.

Turska gora, 2251m via Žmavcarje. A bit above the jump the snow cover starts more mushy. To the bivouac quite a struggle with postholing approach on the right side. To the top of Turska gora mixed base. At the exit from the gully nicely firm. The gully itself has firm base lower down gravelly according to 2 mountaineers who came via Turski žleb to Turska gora.
Descent past the bivouac.
Nice warm sunny day.

Yesterday's Turska via Žmavčarje. Cloudy day took care that we didn't posthole too quickly. As already in the previous post, snow starts above the jump. No major peculiarities. Oh, one treacherous trap a bit below the summit...don't jump out of the track.

Is the book already new in the bivouac?

Trobec23. 07. 2024 23:04:53
I'll just answer the previous question myself... there's still no new logbook in the bivouac, none at the summit at all.

The road to Konec is "gone" on a couple of sections. Otherwise drivable almost to Žagana peč, but there's a no-entry sign below. In case of possible remediation works I'd say it's quite justified.

In the head of the valley towards Žmavčarji there are extensive material deposits, those who don't know the path might end up searching. Further past Žmavčarji it's a bit churned up, but nothing serious. To Turska and over Kotliče without major issues. The latter is heavily eroded anyway.
