Usually go up the harder, down the easier. I went down the gully myself and it's completely ok, but of course depends on experience.....

You can go through gully to Turska, then Brana, then Kamnik Saddle, then from saddle back to Logarska. Nice loop.

Janez: But on the other side in my opinion through Kotliče also easier from Brana towards Turska gora than reverse. Whichever direction you do the tour, you gotta descend somewhere on nasty crumbly terrain, but path through Turkish Gully is at least well secured everywhere.

I personally went through gully also down but not on path(zajlah) but straight on scree in middle then approx 3 years ago no problem how it is now with sand dunno

Given that Turkish Gully is a very frequently visited spot, it is good to use the secured path also down. Namely - even with maximum caution one can trigger something very unpleasant for hikers - at the entrance to the gully, and also lower - whom due to the slope of the terrain one can't even see. I have myself been witness several times to unpleasant whizzing of sizable elements past my and others' heads...

I'd say that, given lots of people hike up the gully, that's worth thinking about whether it's worth crowding in the opposite direction. Last time I went up, it was just us two, behind us a group of ten, and behind them two couples. Luckily no one was descending on the wire then, the meeting would be fun.

In the Gully the most annoying descent is right above that scree field (soder), precisely to the left to the chain. As Janez said, best to climb up the gully and also at the kotliči better over the steep part up than down. As reward you have the Hut at Kamniško sedlo on return for some cold drink. Otherwise you wouldn't need it in the morning.

True. Forecast somehow like this: tomorrow around 30 cm and a bit more on Sunday (until Sunday with wind all days around 50 to 100km/h above 2000m), then nice weather until 1.1.25.

Hi,
yesterday was on Turska gora via gully. Path through gully damaged at two places.
At one part piece of cable torn off with rock chunk, not problem though since there are pegs there and next cable 1.5m further.
Second part destroyed by landslide at last ca 30m of cable. Cable intact but partly more than 2m above ground and can't hold it, so if steep scree is issue for you best wait for repair.
Path to gully from memorial plaque marked with cairns at start where you turn to gully, and at end of landslide where you join back existing path.
