Does anyone know what the current (snow) conditions in Turski gully are? Is there enough snow for skiing down? Lp Urban

In Turski gully today steps were made, if they are not covered by tomorrow like yesterday'snasmeh
Snow soft and sinking through. On Turska gora no views.
Hut at Okrešelj open, path partly icy slide - recommend small crampons.
Best regards and safe steps

Today 17.2., start from Logarska, drove to turnaround, not too icy on road so no problems. Path to Okrešelj no issues, we had crampons on whole way and it was great, in gully great conditions, views from Turska excellent.

Today we all turned back due to strong wind a bit below summit of Turski gully. Maybe only two guys reached top, as they were quite early and already descending when we were ascending.

Yesterday, 17.3. my buddy and I climbed Turski gully. Departure at 6.00 from Okrešelj, at entry to gully wind started, which was "moderate" all way to top. On return gusts of wind, snow and rocks constant, the way back itself full of adrenaline velik nasmeh

True though, without proper crampons, two ice axes and HELMET, no point going there!jezik

On Sunday, 25.10.2020 I went to the bolts in the Turkish Gully. Nice weather and not too crowded.
First snow was on Okrešelj, in the Turkish Gully there was still some, in places up to the knees. Snow gear to the climbing route wasn't necessary, further probably yes.
And some pictures.
LP.

Snow not yet well settled, so choose your route carefully. Good luck!

Currently at Turkish Gully altitude avalanche danger 3rd degree.
When tired of "Šentflorjanska Valley", head to Turska Gora through Turkish Gully. F*** you for whole world and rescuers' lives struggling to save you.
Sincere congrats to such state budget consumers. Taxpayers will pay anyway.

As a child I spent vacations in Logarska at grandma's; always, but really always, they warned me not to go to the Kamnik mountains in winter, especially not to Turkish Gully. There's nothing to seek there until spring when the snow is already settled and frozen. Then treat yourself to a spring ski tour, but not without a helmet and crampons. Who sent those 11 planinci up there todayjezen I hope they are ok. Please, before heading to Kamniško Savinjske in winter, first ask the locals or experienced ski tourers so they tell you the pitfalls awaiting you on the path. Touring is super, just not in a way that amounts to suicide.

Given where you spent vacations and how despite that you still name this gully, those 11 still quite surpass you in experience.velik nasmeh

I'd rather say that he named it just fine or that it's proof he's not bullshitting. Why, look it up yourself...

Of course it doesn't (but there's always someone who thinks it does), but it's good to consider that the world, people, and local names existed before the internet (like Planinski vestnik, for example). Back then Kamniško sedlo was known as Jermanova vrata, not for example Kamnik Sattel, from which the current name derives.
I myself say Turska/i, KS, Blegos,... but papacy is better left to the pope. Good luck

A.D.K., sorry for the late reply. I'll post here even though it's not about conditions. It's the book Solčava - Valent Vider and there's lots of interesting stuff inside.
