Honest and objective criticism is always welcome. It would be good to hear a word from Celje markacists too, otherwise I welcome the work done by Kamnikers. Hats off, guys, on behalf of all who will now feel safer.

Hi. Tomorrow I'd go from Kamnik Saddle to Kokra Saddle, wondering if the path is marked or where it goes.

The path is marked, runs a bit below Brana peak, then over Kotliči and Turska gora summit. Then to Male pode below Skuta, past bivouac below Grintovec and through Vratca to Cojzova hut at Kokra Saddle. Brana-Kotliči-Turska gora path is very demanding (pegs and cables).

Thanks for the reply, I'll be careful, I also have a self-belay harness. I just hope the path is dry. Last Sunday I went from the opposite direction, but snow bothered me. At the sign for Sleme I no longer saw marks, so I turned back.

From Kamnik Saddle too you'll turn back without proper gear (self-belay kit little help here), otherwise you'll see already below Brana it's no joke!!!

Why do you think I'll turn back? I've already climbed some pegs and wires, so it's not completely foreign to me, but I always like to ask for an opinion or tip about a path I haven't walked yet. Every piece of advice from people with more experience is welcome. I've been to Brana 2x this year -1x also in winter conditions. LP

I emphasize, without proper gear, namely descent via Boštjance to Kotliči, might be quite icy tomorrow. Path on shady side, doubt all snow gone there, so... Anyway wish you luck and above all a safe path. LP

A nice greeting to all. Today I decided to peek a bit into Turkish Gully... We barely reached the turning point and think we'll be last because lots of snow fell today. Path to top of Turski žleb was trampled from yesterday (assume so) so morning snow covered it a bit, nothing for it, we trampled anew. To entrance of Turski žleb nicely without sinking much, in gully itself already hard snow locally ice like stone, so crampons and axe mandatory. Noticed ski tourer tracks too, snow cover already thick only bottom near monument some stones peek out. Fell about 15 cm new snow that doesn't stick well to old.

Nice greeting.
On Friday my colleague and I plan to head to Turska gora, wondering if anyone has fresh info. Can drive to turning point or how far is road passable? What are conditions in Turski žleb?
Thanks.

The road is drivable to "Dragica", a bit before the mountaineers' hut (but only if you have a good off-roader you might reach the top. Otherwise count 2 hours to Okrešelj. On Sunday I was up there and it's quite tracked, although snow conditions are totally bad as it hasn't settled yet; in the Turski gully there's already a beaten track to the foot, goes quite fast on avalanche debris. Probably by the end of the week snow will settle a bit more so it will be. But be careful at the exit of the Turski Gully at the top; this year the upper part of the gully is wind-blown so the slope there is about 60° to 70°.

Don't exaggerate with the slopes, Turski gully is far from 60°. I've already read the report from Butinarjeva and if it continues like this we'll soon learn that the exit to Savinjsko sedlo is slightly overhanging and the last 10 meters are really demanding for skiing. No offense.

Well, it's around there, but it's a fact that it's steeper than last year, and if that tells you anything: last Thursday two climbers who climbed the east face rappelled through the gully on descent because there was supposedly some small cornice. On Sunday there was no sight nor sound of it. Still, be careful in the gully!

I'm that climber who supposedly rappelled over the cornice. We didn't rappel but belayed down, because the ledge didn't seem the safest to us. While doing that we walked facing down, believe me I'm not such an ace to do that at 60°. I repeated the traverse without a rope today, still claim it's max 45°.

Hello,
Please, someone who has gone through the Turski gully in the last few days, write what the snow situation is, can one pass through it on the fixed ropes path, or are the ropes not visible (due to snow height), so crampons are mandatory.
Thanks in advance,
lp

10 days ago no problem (where you walk but no snow on the wires), with a buddy we went circular from Okrešelj to Mrzla gora then under Savinjsko sedlo to Križ-Koroško rinko and through Turski gully back to Okrešelj.

On Saturday, 17.7., went through, snow just a sample left, mostly bare ground. Crampons not needed as snow (whatever remains) is not on the path.

I'm interested in the conditions on the circular path from Okrešelj over Turski gully to Turska gora and further to Brana. Is there still any snow patch on the path between Turska gora and Brana? Thanks for the answer.

Hello. Next week (if the weather is stable) I plan to do a tour from Ravenska Kočna to Rinke. From Koroška or Kranjska Rinke I'd like to continue to the hut at Kamniško sedlo, but I'm not sure if that's even possible without descending to Okrešelj and then to Kamniško sedlo. Can someone please advise or tell me if it's possible to get from Rinke via Turski žleb - Turska Gora to Kamniško sedlo. Thanks in advance!!!
