Parked at Dom planincev as road ahead very icy. Past closed Dom na Okrešlju and Zaspanega hriba to Turkish Gully. Below trodden, higher (from boulder) no tracks left as strong wind erased them. Just below summit cornice on left and right complicating exit to gully top. Decided not to try as such cornice took two experienced climbers two weeks ago.
Return to valley same way.

After 3 weeks Turkish Gully tempted me again, from junction Savinja Saddle to gully sinking to waist (HARD WORK), further ok, to gully top no problem. Road plowed to Logarska kot, both huts closed today.

Saw you had summer boots and classic crampons like me (most have winter boots semi or auto crampons anyway), still made it up and down. I'm happy with summer boots classic crampons, me and colleague even on 3 Rinks...

Enthusiast, equipment is not the most important, I had ordinary high work boots with steel toe and classic crampons on my feet today. Edmund Hillary probably had worse equipment on his Everest ascent than most walkers who dare only to Okrešelj today. The most important is always in the person, equipment cannot replace some things.

Joža X I agree with this 150%, as you saw me I have summer gojzar, gaiters, hiking pants, classic crampons, helmet, everything else is cheap non-mountaineering variant....I'm satisfied with this, nothing is missing, nothing I miss and I'm happy in the mountains.velik nasmeh

Hello!
What are the conditions like from Okrešelj onwards and through the Turkish Couloir.

On Saturday with a friend we did a quite long tour around there. In the morning hours the snow was still frozen, then it was sinking 20-30 cm deep. We were at Rinka, towards the top of Skuta it was too icy (mandatory use of two ice axes, which unfortunately we didn't have) and it remained unconquered. We ended the day with a jump to Turska gora. Tiring. But wonderful views, pristine nature and tranquility return everything double. (Winter gear and cheerfully on the way. Good luck.)
On Turska gora and conquered peaks of Rink in the background.1

Today visited this Jalovec glacier KSA.
Up to the entrance of the couloir walking was very pleasant, then in the couloir 10-20 cm of unprocessed powder, which the wind was blowing back and forth. Walking was quite strenuous, as it sank all the way to the hard base. Even harder was the way back, as snowballs formed on the crampons, knocking off snowballs with the ice axe on such a steep slope is quite risky.
We postponed the visit to Turska gora, as fog caught us at the top of the couloir and it was also windy.
The road to the parking lot under the waterfall is completely dry.

I was there on March 16 and it was super. In the couloir nice and hard, icy, towards Rinka also super, but go early, even in the dark with lights, then in the afternoon it's not good, snow already softens there at Rinka.

Look nod32, on 19.3.- Monday it was snowing in the mountains. As you can read from my trip description through Turkish couloir on Wednesday 21.3 there is 10-20 cm of unprocessed powder in the couloir. This unprocessed snow is a big problem when going down, because it offers no support, and the slope as you probably know is quite steep in the couloir.
And since most of the couloir is still in the shade, I think the fresh snow hasn't transformed yet.
Towards Rinka no problems, as the path is exposed to the sun.

The snow through the gully has already set, it's hard and frozen. Doesn't sink, good for walking, steps are made in the snow. Upper part - top 10m is icy. Conditions were the same in the afternoon too.
