Today through the gully to Turska Gora. Bottom of the gully nicely snow-covered, then it thins out gradually, upper third bare, frozen and unpleasant. Just before summit some snow again.

Do you recommend using crampons in the gully? Regards!

It's Dec 10, crampons in backpack, ice axe on backpack, and go for it.

I agree. Recommend or discourage, I'd rather say nothing to anyone. Without winter gear nowhere, use depends on individual anyway. I used them, some places almost unnecessary, others glad not taken off. Down put on only bare sections. Base quite varied...some places sank over knees, few m higher only teeth in snow, so compact frozen. So... If going further to Turska Gora, mixed terrain again, snow patches more worked, compacted, crossing such toboggans like pic below without gear very dangerous. Good luck.

Onsight, "Recommend or discourage I'd rather say nothing..." You've said and explained it all. If someone doesn't get it, let them think after the slip.

This wasn't about taking gear or not at all. More whether Mr. onsight even used them in the gully. Thanks for answer! Regards!

Lino, if he can still think... Otherwise in mountains now very sh... situation without guaranteed snow to walk on no problem with crampons on feet and no guaranteed bare sections, cuz you might stroll without winter gear. South side mostly no winter gear needed, but sections where essential. So at this time to mountains without W gear no way.

Klemen, just take winter gear along. Temps low, though not much snow. North sides snow-covered.

Milepetro, in case of the blackest scenario and when there is enough frozen snow you can drive almost to the helicopter crash monument. Then you really have nothing more to think about. Lp!

With ice axe and crampons you can go nicely through the gully, especially over the unsnowed and partially frozen upper scree. So I recommend using the gear Lp!

Turska gora from the direction of Turski gully is not "closed". The closed section is the path from the top over Kotliče towards Kamniško sedlo, which awaits renovation.

Yes you're right. I found out too late. First time I was here. I heard them, why didn't I go to the top when I was already there. You have to know how to read properly.

It's still better to give up due to superficial reading than to continue the path.

Hello. This weekend for the anniversary I'm heading to Turska gora via Turski gully. I'm wondering approximately how much time (normal walking) I need to do the "circular" tour to Savinjsko sedlo and then descent back to Okrešelj? To avoid the closed path to Kam. sedlo? Best thanks. Gregor
