Veliki Travnik (Turnovka)

Today, due to even worse weather in Logarska, change of plan and ascent to the wonderful mountain above Ljubno, Travnik. Path very nice, all through the forest, so the rain didn't bother much, and no crowds. Views matching the bad weather. At the hut very friendly caretakers, I recommend to all nature lovers.

Today I climbed Travnik from direction L.Rast - Grunti - Planinc - Goba - Travnik.
Path is "super", snow holds so I carried snowshoes for nothing - recommend to ski tourers.

This morning I took my better half for a walk to the Travnik hut.
For starting point I chose Vodole planina below Raduha. Weather wasn't on our side, fog and light wind on Travnik. Path was muddy and snowy for a bit, snow just traces. Day was nice and recreational despite bad weather, that's what matters

This morning at Travnik. Path passable without issues, no snow, but path a bit muddy, but Travnik totally destroyed by foresters who dragged trees from Turnovka towards Mali Travnik, water pipe from spring to hut broken in three places - really nice from the Diocese, taking care of parishioners' souls by damaging others.

Today at Veliki Travnik. Snow up to 50cm, in places more due to drifts.

In the morning I head out from pl. Vodole past Bele peči to the Travnik summit.
At Vodole planina there are full of remains of clay pigeons; if they were playing, they should at least clean up, but no because they're tough guys.
On the way there and back I meet (see) numerous animals, haven't seen so many in a long time..(hares.chamois.deer.wild hens.owls.wild rooster.grouse and more) the little owl landed a few meters from me on a spruce branch and wasn't bothered because the sun shone straight in its eyes and probably didn't see me..

This weekend the hut on Travnik is open for the last time this year over the weekend - All hikers invited to the warm hut, mushroom soup and ......... great company!

on photo no. 2 is summit Jelovec (1808m). From hut on pic cca. 1h to top. Then nice trodden path on ridge to Lanež and on to Raduha. Back via Javorje pasture to Vodol.

Skorni: is this supposed to be a hike to Travnik? more like communist propaganda from 50 years ago! PD Ljubno very sad, at least mountaineers can be a bit more patient and normal!

ada, what's wrong with that? some are just proud of the symbols that mark our history, which gave them bread, homes, jobs... wonder what they'll hoist in 50 years??? (I mean history after Slovenia's independence)???? I think black flags will be current!
