Writing fines at trailheads

In the KG municipality, from my experience, you get a 40 euro fine, but "due to the insignificant nature of the violation" you don't have to pay it, so it's just a warning.

Tomorrow on Vršič they are plowing the last bends. But they won't remove the signs, because supposedly there will be crowds on Vršič, that's what they say at CP Jesenice. Up to KNG it will be allowed to drive by car. Further for the brave and rich - that's what the caretaker of Erjavčeva hut wrote on FB

@zavest: yes, for now win-win. But it's shortsighted. Germans and Austrians aren't as dumb as we think either, and even if someone has a fatter wallet, it probably seems petty to them. For them it's not so much the money, but that feeling of being ripped off and having a spoiled trip or vacation. In short, feeling of inhospitality. And after so many years when this spreads through various web guides, forums and word of mouth, the situation will be lose-lose. Of course current greedy municipal officials don't care a bit. @ppegan: isn't it interesting how in other alpine countries, not only are important passes cleared all winter but even without any signs and messing with tourists. With us the one and only we have, we barely manage to clear till end of winter and then it's such a wow event that it's news in all media, then ... you can't drive there or they obviously cleared it just so they can make fat money from it.

Yesterday at Peričnik they didn't allow "souvenirs". I hope it will be like that onwards and it wasn't just a bright flash.

Apparently, we'll need to take the plates off the car and start carrying them into the hills with us

Interesting, when I got "just" a warning, it always said the fine was 40 eur, but due to the minor nature of the offense no need to pay it. How has it now become a usurious 500 eur?!

Yes, fines are also issued at the starting point in Vratih for Dovški križ, Oltar

Yes, these 500€ per TNP law, written by park wardens, not traffic cops. Don't know what Ravenska kočna has to do with it?

Haven't been to Vratih in years ... First weekend in September, planning Kriške pode for 2 days, start from Vrat. Wondering about parking there at Aljažev dom or weekend parking? Now you've scared me with fines for all outside marked P. Any advice? Thanks.

In Vratih daily parking 3.5 eur, I doubt they charge extra for multiple days, since you pay at entry to the gent/lady who gives you the ticket and you park. You leave when you leave.

georgia, I think they will asphalt the road to Vrata this autumn (don't know the exact date off the top of my head, apparently Kofler posted it), check it out so it doesn't mess up your tour

That's what TNP replied to me where the money from collected fines goes: "integrated budget of the Republic of Slovenia" So probably the money will go to the road to Vrata valley so I concluded quite rightly. Not bad and I hope one day we drive on asphalt road. In Italy (Carnic Alps) they already have asphalt everywhere, lots of parking lots at trailheads, free parking....

And at the trailhead for Kukova špica can I expect some ticket too? Or is it only at the trailhead for DK, Oltar ...?

Theoretically yes, because no marked parking lot. Haven't heard yet that anyone got one... but that doesn't mean it can't happen once.

I just learned first-hand that you get a fine if you park on the grass. If on sand though, it's supposedly OK because you don't interfere with the natural environment Probably depends more on the TNP supervisor's will. I haven't gotten a fine so far, though I've parked several times at trailheads for DK and Kukova špica, and also in Krma, Kot..., not yet this year but in previous years.

To add another gem, this time Bohinj one. With daughter we went climbing to Bohinj, Bellevue. Since no more space for car up at crag, we parked lower down on gravel by road where some other vehicles already were. When returned to car after climbing, "nice greeting" from municipal warden awaited us in the amount of 200€ or half. I have a question that bothers me now. Must I as driver know decrees of certain municipality? Because in ZPCP, parking in such cases not prohibited.
