Zasavska Sveta gora

For this year's May Day hike we chose the Holy Mountain. We started in Vidrga village and then climbed the asphalt road past some villages to the forest path. The path is steep but brought us to the church on Holy Mountain in a little over half an hour. The church surroundings are very nicely arranged with statues and paintings. Lots of hikers today, even more on the traditional hike to Pleše from where music was heard all the way to Holy Mountain. Regards

Pleasant Sunday walk to the favorite little church. We started at Vidrga and finished there too. Path nicely trodden. I put on small crampons for more comfortable walking.
In the hut pleasant atmosphere, lots of guests and good food for moderate price.

Today run-walk to Zasavska gora from Sava village near Litija past Leše village. One way totals 600 elev. in 6.7 km. Up took me 1h05min, down 50min. Conditions for running/walking super, snow grips well, no need for crampons or gaiters.

Hello!
The hiking trail to Zasavska gora from train station Sava via Tirna village is nice and for us who travel to hills by train very (and most) suitable. Unfortunately this trail is extremely poorly marked and (especially section Sava - Tirna) neglected. Also on section Tirna - Zasavska gora, almost no markers. Here we find some signs that point "all directions". It would be nice if the responsible PD, which has its name (PD ZAGORJE) takes care of the trail, marks it and sorts the mess with signs...
Full praise to the hut keeper. Friendliness, cleanliness and service top level! No hard feelings!

Members of PD Dramlje went on Saturday from Vače to Zasavska holy mountain and Geoss.
Path nicely marked and without peculiarities. On the way up the mountain we also climbed to St. Cross church.
Despite nice weather it was very cold on Zasavska gora, so the warmth and shelter of the mountain hut was very welcome. Thanks also to the priest who showed us the church and described its history.
On the way back home, we also "jumped" to Geoss, like Prevc to the record and holy champion. Bravo!!!!!!

Very pleasant and interesting trip from Vače to Zasavska gora and on return also to Geoss. From pictures the path looks easy, although it's secured with a chain somewhere. Wish you many more such nice winter trips. Regards

Milan has long wanted to walk paths he hasn't been on for at least 40 years. He was born in Zasavje and knows everything very well, I don't...
So I gladly accept his invitation. In the morning I'm quite disappointed when he calls me at 5:30: "Zlatko I can't.."!! Then laughter: "April 1st"!!
We leave the car in Zagorje and take the train to Sava place. Just before 7:30 we start towards Leše village. Some asphalt, some grass, forest and we spot St. Mountain. We choose the "hard variant" and soon we're at the Mountain hut. First we check out the little church and other buildings, then drinks at the hut.
After refreshing we head to Roviškovec 930m. At 10:45 we're at the top by the bench. Then descent along the ridge and next point is Pleša 866m (11:25). Descent to Čolnišče village. Then again steep ascent to Peak 714m. On the left we spot Kisovec then Sava gorge. When we see the Sava river below we realize only descent to Zagorje train station left.
We find a steep path in the forest that takes us exactly to the station and parked car 14:00.
In six hours we walked over 21km. We missed markings several times and went "our way". Parts of the path are well marked, then markings "disappear.." Were we that clueless or is it just poorly marked? No problems anyway!!
Regards

Discovering Zasavje was really interesting!!!
Thanks Milan!!

Milan was a bit disappointed. During a modest snack he was checking emails......??confused The minister for integration/assimilation of applicants for citizenship of Zasavje municipalities apparently rejected his request..."maybe" big grin

area Sava - Tirna - Zasavska holy mountain - Roviškovec - return the same or via Leše village

parking at the train station?
is the path via Tirna really practically unmarked, even though marked on pespoti.si maps and PZS map? as far as visible it's not much to miss, but it goes initially through some forest path, later some paths and lots on road?
for return via Leše before Roviškovec on footpath and at end on road.
does anyone walk there at all, no descriptions of these two paths anywhere?

thanks for help.

Winter afternoons are just right for short and nice trips. And a good two hours (too) quickly passed during the visit to Roviškovec (starting point Krače, up of course circular over the top). Due to north exposure frozen all from the valley up, a bit above the stream up to 10cm snow starts. With good shoes no problemsmile more such nice days.

On Saturday we headed from Vače to Zasavje Holy Mountain. Morning was cold, cloudy, path easy, but on road partly frozen. Towards top more snow, less ice and still easier walking. Up along the ridge. Church tour, cribs, monument to WWI fighters, short tea stop and with quite below zero, path down. Walking conditions fine, standing still too cold. But it started clearing, down the more attractive path section, more sun and joy....Saw roe deer, super day behind us, coming again, next from Izlake, descent to Sava, all by train when possible, hope soon...14 km, 500m elevation.
