Potoče - Planinska koča Iskra na Jakobu (cart track)

Access to starting point:
A) From the Ljubljana - Jesenice highway, take the Kranj - east exit, then continue driving in the direction of Jezersko. When we arrive in Preddvor, leave the main road and continue driving left, then after a few 10 meters, opposite the company Jelovica, continue right in the direction of the village Potoče, sv. Jakob and Potoška gora and lake Črnava. Further on, the road leads us through the settlement Hrib, above which we arrive at a crossroad, where we continue straight (left Hotel Bor and lake Črnava, right Senior Citizens' Home Preddvor). Next follows a good 100 meters of gentle ascent to the chapel, where the road turns right, we drive along it past a few more houses, then before the Senior Citizens' Home turn left onto a larger macadam parking lot.
B) From the Jesenice - Ljubljana highway, take the Kranj - west exit and at the first crossroad continue left. Further on, we drive through the underpass under the highway, then arrive at a roundabout, from which we continue driving in the direction of Golnik. The route ahead leads us through the settlement Mlaka pri Kranju, and at the end of the settlement we continue right in the direction of the settlement Srakovlje. This is followed by driving through Srakovlje, Spodnja Bela, Srednja Bela to Zgornja Bela, where we continue right towards Preddvor. At the end of Preddvor, only a few 10 meters before the road joins the main road Zgornje Jezersko - Kranj, we continue left in the direction of the village Potoče, sv. Jakob and Potoška gora and lake Črnava. Further on, the road leads us through the settlement Hrib, above which we arrive at a crossroad, where we continue straight (left Hotel Bor and lake Črnava, right Senior Citizens' Home Preddvor). Path description:
From the starting point, we continue on the macadam road, which after less than 10 minutes brings us to a smaller crossroad, where the road crosses the marked path that leads from Senčnica Josipine Turnograjske towards Planinska koča Iskra na Jakobu. From here, the road leads through the forest for a short time, then we arrive at the edge of a smaller clearing, where there is a beehive stand.
Before the beehive stand, we continue on the left road (straight to sv. Jakob on the forest road), which continues through the forest. After a few minutes, the road ends, or changes into a cart track, on which we continue the ascent. The cart track higher up crosses a newly built forest road several times, which we leave near a smaller sign and continue left, past the sign, on a narrower cart track (the lower wider cart track leads to Planinska koča pri Franciju). Higher, we exit the forest, where the path along the road also joins us, but we continue left in the direction of sv. Jakob (straight Potoška gora, Javorov vrh, Cjanovca, Srednji vrh, Kališče, Storžič..., right spring below Potoška gora and Babe and Dom Čemšenik past the mentioned spring) and after one more minute of walking we arrive at the church of sv. Jakob and a few steps further to the mountain hut.
