Koča pod slapom Rinka - Planjava

Access to starting point:
We drive into Logarska dolina, then follow the main road towards the head of the valley, where we park at the parking lot at the turnaround near Bar Pod slapom, also known as Koča pod slapom Rinka.

To enter Krajinski park Logarska dolina with a motor vehicle, an entrance fee or ecological tax must be paid, which amounts to 10 € for a passenger car (7 € for motorcycles, 20 € for vans). The entrance fee is collected during the tourist season (from spring to the end of October) and also applies to electric vehicles. Payment of the tax includes the use of all parking lots within the valley. Entry is free for pedestrians and cyclists.

Route description:
From the place where we parked, we first walk to Bara Pod slapom, then head onto the marked path, along which numerous mountain destinations are marked. We continue along the mountain trail through the forest (a slightly less steep tourist path leads a bit more to the left), which after a few minutes of ascent joins the tourist path, and along it we continue with an easy ascent to the junction near Slap Rinka.
We continue slightly left in the direction of Frischaufov dom na Okrešlju (straight to the foot of Slap Rinka and Orlovo gnezdo), where a little further we cross the Savinja over a wooden bridge. This then sinks into the gravel bed, but immediately after the bridge, looking to the right, we get a nice view of Slap Rinka.
In the continuation, we start ascending steeply along a well-arranged and maintained path, which higher up turns right and passes under the walls, where there is a danger of falling rocks. Here, with the help of protections, we ascend transversely to the right, then cross the Savinja over a footbridge just above the mouth of Slap Rinka.
The path then leads us for some time along the picturesque Savinja, where a few protections help us for easier progress, and higher up the slope flattens. This is followed by crossing the Savinja riverbed, which in this part is barely watery, then we arrive at the marked source of the Savinja.
After the source, the path turns into a forest, through which we ascend moderately to steeply, higher up it flattens and splits.
We continue right in the direction of Kamniško sedlo, Turski žleb, Savinjsko sedlo and Mrzla gora (straight leads the path to Frischaufov dom na Okrešlju – two minutes, from where all the mentioned paths also lead). From the forest we then step onto the grassy plain Okrešelj, from which a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains and their walls opens up.
Here, the path that leads past Frischaufov dom quickly joins from the left, but we head left in the direction of Kamniško sedlo, Planjava, Brana and Turska gora. The path ahead initially ascends moderately through the forest, later through a belt of shrubs, all the time leading us somewhat towards the south. Later the path completely flattens and crosses scree to the left, after the scree we already arrive at the northern wall of Brana or the passage called Boštjanca, which is not overly demanding as numerous protections help us for easier progress. When we ascend the rock step higher, the path turns east, but is still quite steep and exposed to falling rocks. Higher up we arrive at a rather steep and in snow, which can remain here until the beginning of summer, a dangerous scree for slipping, which we only cross. This is followed by a short ascent along a wide but somewhat exposed ledge, after which we already arrive at the extensive grassy slopes of Kamniško sedlo, where west of the saddle we reach a marked junction.
We head slightly left in the direction of Kamniško sedlo (sharp right Brana and Turska gora) and in a few minutes, with a view of the walls of Planjava, descend along the grassy slope to Kamniška koča na Kamniškem sedlu.
From the hut we continue straight or east in the direction of Planjava (right down Kamniška Bistrica) and ascend to the ridge, which we reach east of Kamniško sedlo, from the ridge a nice view opens in the direction of Mrzla gora. From the ridge the path immediately turns slightly right, where we first pass onto grassy slopes, after them we reach the scree under the western wall of Planjava. On the other side of the scree, along a wide ledge we enter the walls of Planjava, where the path becomes technically demanding. In the continuation, protections help us, which help with progress when crossing gullies and ascending along narrow ledges, where in early summer some snow patches are still possible. Above Wisiakova grapa the path becomes less demanding and in a few minutes ascends to the south-western ridge of Planjava also called Sukalnik. Along the mentioned ridge we continue only for a short time, as the path turns slightly right onto mostly steep grassy slopes, interrupted by rocky gullies.
Here, slightly right downwards, the path branches off towards Korošica, but we keep to the left direction towards Planjava. This is followed by some steeper ascent and transverse ascent to the right and we reach another junction under the eastern peak of Planjava, where we go left up once more (straight Škarje, right down Korošica.
This is followed by a few more minutes of ascent along an increasingly scenic slope, then we reach the eastern peak of Planjava, where the markings end.
