Krvavi Potok - Kokoš

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Koper, we go to the exit Kozina, and then we continue driving towards Trst / Trieste. Still before we cross the national border we get to the village Krvavi Potok, where we turn right in the direction of Vrhpolje. Ahead we drive for few 100 meters and then we get to a smaller crossroad, by which we notice signposts for Kokoš, Veliko Gradišče and the road Joškova cesta. We park on an appropriate place by the crossroad.

Path description:
From the crossroad, by which we parked, we go on a macadam road (direction Kokoš and Veliko Gradišče) and there we start gently ascending. After a good 100 meters of walking, we get to a smaller crossroad, where we continue right on a gradually a little steeper road. From the road which is then moderately ascending, at first views opening up only on the nearby hills, and higher also towards Slavnik. After approximately half an hour of walking road flattens, and then only few 10 meters ahead an asphalt road joins (road comes from the village Vrhpolje). Here we continue straight and past nearby decaying church of St. Tomaž and settled cemetery we walk to a marked crossing, which is situated only few meters ahead from the abandoned playground and nearby buildings.
At the crossing, in front of which asphalt ends we continue left in the direction of Kokoš (straight Veliko Gradišče) and we continue on a gentle macadam road. Considerably gentle road, on which we continue, is slowly turning more and more to the left and then it brings us out of the forest, where from the right joins also the path from the village Prelože pri Lokvi (path past a source Vroček).
We continue straight and in a gentle ascent on the road which runs through a thin forest, in 15 minutes of additional walking, we ascend to the mountain hut on Kokoš.
