Laško - Krničarjeva koča na planini Javornik

Access to starting point:
A) From the Ljubljana–Jesenice highway, take the Kranj–east exit, then continue driving in the direction of Jezersko. When you arrive in Preddvor, leave the main road and continue driving left towards the center of the mentioned settlement, from there follow the signs for the Bašelj settlement. When you arrive in Bašelj, at the beginning of the left bend a narrower road continues straight ahead, which leads to the parking lot at the log cabin TD Bašelj (in descriptions starting point Bašelj), we continue from the mentioned intersection along the main road for another good 100 m to the next intersection, where we continue right on the road towards Gamsov raj and the Laško hamlet. Only about 50 m ahead we continue on the left road, which gradually starts to ascend moderately. At the Laško hamlet we continue left again, then the asphalt ends and we continue driving on the steep macadam road, which we follow to the parking lot at the smaller intersection. Red mountain signposts are located at the intersection.
B) From the Jesenice–Ljubljana highway, take the Kranj–west exit and at the first intersection continue left. Then drive through the underpass under the highway, after which you arrive at a roundabout, from where you continue driving in the direction of Golnik. The route ahead leads through the Mlaka pri Kranju settlement, and at the end of the settlement we continue right in the direction of the Srakovlje settlement. This is followed by driving through Srakovlje, Spodnja Bela, Srednja Bela, Zgornja Bela (in Zgornja Bela we join the road from Preddvor) to Bašelj, where the main road makes a long left bend, where a narrower road continues straight ahead to the parking lot at the log cabin TD Bašelj (in descriptions starting point Bašelj), we continue from the mentioned intersection along the main road for another good 100 m to the next intersection, where we continue right on the road towards Gamsov raj and the Laško hamlet. Path description:
From the parking lot, we head onto a steep cart track in the direction of Lovrenc. The steepness soon eases and the path brings us to a junction, where the path to the church of St. Lovrenc branches off to the right. We continue on the lower cart track path, which ascends more steeply again and brings us to the Dom na Lovrencu hut after 15 minutes of walking from the car. At the hut, we continue on the path towards Storžič. Already after a few steps, the path brings us out of the forest onto meadows below the church. We reach the Church of St. Lovrenc in a few minutes of walking across the meadow. At the church, we head slightly right into the forest, where the cart track path brings us in a gentle descent to an indistinct saddle, where the path from a somewhat higher starting point joins us. Ahead we continue in the direction of Storžič further along the cart track, which now ascends gently. After a few minutes, the cart track turns into a footpath, which starts to ascend steeply through the forest. After approximately half an hour of walking from the point where the cart track ends, we step out of the forest. Nice views open up on the southern slopes of Storžič. The steepness of the path does not ease for another 30 minutes to a bench at the junction. Ahead we head left towards Javornik and Poljana (right Kališče). The path ahead crosses the southern slopes of Storžič towards the west with some shorter descents and ascents. After 20 minutes of crossing, we reach a junction in the southwestern gully of Storžič. We see Planina Javornik to the left, and we ascend to it in a few minutes along the steep grassy slope.
