Makole - Plešivec (at Boč) (via Formila)

Access to starting point:
A) We drive to Poljčane, then follow the signs for Majšperk and Makole. In the settlement Stranske Makole or slightly after the settlement Stranske Makole, we turn right towards Makole, where in the center of the settlement, we park on the marked parking lot by the cemetery.
B) We drive to Slovenska Bistrica, then head on the road in the direction towards Makole. We continue following the signs for Makole and park on the marked parking lot by the cemetery in the center of the settlement.
C) From Ptuj we follow the signs for Majšperk, when we arrive in Majšperk we follow the signs for Makole. When we arrive in Makole we park on the marked parking lot by the cemetery.

Path description:
From the parking lot we walk to the main road and continue right to the nearby roundabout, from which we head onto the road by which there are signs for Jelovec pri Makolah and St. Urban.
We continue on a somewhat narrower road that leads us across Jelovški potok stream. Makole ends a little further on, and from the junction with the dead-end street we continue left, where the first blazes appear. We continue on the asphalt road, which rises slightly further through the forest, then leads past a few houses. Further on, a nice view opens up from the road, and at several junctions we follow the signs and blazes. Higher up the road leads past the chapel of St. Urban, and at several junctions we still follow the blazes. After a while we go left from the asphalt road onto a macadam road, which temporarily descends slightly, and from it we go right onto a cart track that ascends along the edge of the forest. The path ahead leads through the forest for a few minutes, and when we leave the forest we go right, bypassing the nearby homestead on the right side; when we reach the asphalt road we go left. Again some descent follows, at the Domišak farm the road returns into the forest and begins to ascend. In the forest we go right from the road onto a cart track, along which we ascend diagonally. When we leave the cart track—from which a nice view of Boč opens up temporarily—we step onto the road, which we follow right (left Plešivec). We don't walk the road long, as the blazes direct us slightly left onto a cart track that ascends diagonally to the right, and higher at the junctions we follow it in the direction of the blazes. Near the summit of Kisovec the path begins to descend and takes us to a poorer road, along which we easily descend to Formila.
Here we go left twice, then ascend along the macadam road through the forest. Already after a few minutes we will notice signs for the partisan hospital on the left side of the road, which lead us to the place where the partisan hospital once stood.
From the former partisan hospital we return to the road, then continue an easy ascent along it. After a few minutes signs for Donačka gora direct us right from the road onto a cart track, along which we continue the ascent through the forest. After somewhat more than ten minutes of moderate ascent we reach another road, which we follow left (right Boč). We walk the mentioned road only briefly, as the blazes opposite the "football field" direct us left, where we quickly ascend to the hunting lodge Rogaška Slatina, reaching another road. Behind the lodge, past the Gavez homestead, we descend to a small saddle, where from the junction we continue along the slightly left road (right leads the road towards Rogaška Slatina). Some ascent follows along the forest road, and from the junction we go right (slightly left Makole—option to descend back to the starting point), shortly after right again onto a cart track, along which we arrive at a marked junction where we join the path from Rogaška Slatina or Cerovec pod Bočem.
Some easy walking through the forest follows, then we ascend somewhat more temporarily. After the hunting observatory the path levels out, and we follow the cart track at several junctions in the direction of the blazes.
When we notice a hunting observatory and a game feeder on the left side, we leave the marked path and begin ascending towards the summit of Plešivec along the feeder. Initially we can still follow a poorer trail, to the highest point of Plešivec we ascend via easier pathless terrain.
Unmarked paths and pathless terrain together account for about 5 minutes.
