A) First, we drive to Kranjska Gora, and then we continue driving through the mountain pass Vršič towards Bovec. Soon after the tunnel Berebica, we will come in the village Soča, where we turn left through a bridge over the river Soča (direction tourist farm Jelinčič and camp Korita). After the bridge, we don't turn left towards the camp, but we continue driving straight on an ascending asphalt road. Further, we are ascending over ample meadows, in the middle of which stands some individual cottages, and then the road passes into the forest. Higher, the road turns quite to the left and it brings us to Pod Zjabcev, where we notice mountain signposts for mountain pasture Planina Za skalo, Dom na Komni and lakes Triglavska jezera. We park on an appropriate place by the road.
B) From Primorska, at first we drive in Bovec, and then we continue driving towards Trenta. Towards the end of the village Soča, we turn right in the direction of tourist farm Jelinčič and camp Korita.
Path description:
From Pod Zjabci we go on a marked path, which on the right side bypasses the nearby cottages. Behind the cottages, the path goes into the forest and it quickly brings us to a smaller crossing, where we continue right over a stream. On the other side of the stream, the path turns left and starts moderately ascending through a dense forest. We continue the ascent on an old mule track, which is on many spots already greatly eaten away, and which higher brings us to a short steep rocky part. Through the mentioned part leads us well maintained and wide mule track, and the path above the mentioned part brings us to the vantage point, from which a beautiful view opens up on Bavški Grintavec.
From the vantage point, the path returns in the forest and quickly ascends to an old trough with water (here is by the path a small well, which in dry periods dries up). Above the trough, the path turns a little left and then it is ascending in numerous zig-zags through the forest. Higher, the footpath flattens a little and brings us on a less noticeable crossing, where the abandoned path towards the mountain pasture Za skalo branches off to the left.
From here we still continue straight, again a little steeper path, after 10 minutes of additional walking, brings us to the next, this time entirely unmarked crossing. Here unmarked footpath branches off to the right, which leads towards the nearby hunting cottage and forward towards the mountain pasture Planina za Črnim vrhom, to the left hunting path towards the mountain pasture Za skalo branches off, and we continue straight to the next nearby crossing, which is a little better marked.
Here we continue straight or slightly right, on a marked path in the direction of lakes Triglavska jezera and Komna. We continue on a gently sloping path, which through a conifer forest, brings us to a crossing.
From the crossing, we continue on the left path in the direction of Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih (straight Komna and Lanževica), and which on the left side bypasses Dol za Bajarjem. The path ahead for some time only crosses slopes, after that for a short time ascends and brings us into a smaller valley, where we get to a smaller crossing. At the crossing, we continue left on a marked path (straight unmarked path (mule track), which leads towards Mala vrata), which is further ascending diagonally over moderately steep grassy slopes. Higher, the path leads through a series of smaller indistinct valleys, after that a little steeper ascends and brings us below cliffs, where there is the next less noticeable crossing. Here we continue right (left by smaller cairn leads partly pathless path towards the valley Travniška dolina) and for some time we cross slopes below cliffs, and then the path which continues on an old mule track turns a little left and starts ascending steeper. After a shorter steeper part marked path turns right (here in the direction of straight continues pathless approach on Čelo - marked with cairns) and it brings us to a saddle Velika vrata, where we notice old border stone of Rapallo border.
Here pathless approach on Kal branches off to the right, and we continue on a marked path, which descends to the nearby limestone pavements. We continue on limestone pavement terrain, over which in fog in spite of blazes the orientation is very difficult. With a view on chain of mountains above the valley Dolina triglavskih jezer we quickly get to the eastern edge of ample limestone pavements, where blazes lead left in short groove, through which we for few meters steeply descend. The path quickly flattens and gradually passes into a lane of dwarf pines, bushes and low and thin forest. Worse beaten, but all the time marked path lower leads over high grass, through which we descend to the mountain pasture Lopučnica.
On the mountain pasture, we join a wider and better beaten path from Komna, and we follow it left in the direction of the mountain hut Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih. On the other side of the mountain pasture, the path goes in partly thin forest, through which it starts moderately to occasionally steeply ascending. Higher, the path flattens and turns to the left. Next follows few minutes of descent and the path brings us to the lake Dvojno jezero, from there we only have few 10 strides of walking to the near the mountain hut.
On the way: Velika vrata (1924m), Planina Lopučnica (1558m)
