Description of mountain:
Alpspitze is a 2628-meter-high peak in the Wetterstein mountain group. From the summit, where a cross from 1946 stands, there is a very nice view of the nearby peaks in the group. The highest peak Zugspitze is also clearly visible. The peak is very popular among mountaineers. Its popularity is boosted by the proximity of the gondola cableway.
