Description of mountain:
Col Rosa is a 2,166-meter-high mountain situated north of Cortina d'Ampezzo. From the summit, where a cross stands, there is a very nice view of the nearby Tofane peaks and the Boite River valley. The mountain also features many military trenches from World War I, some just below the summit itself. It is well-visited due to an interesting secured climbing path leading to the top, and its relatively low elevation makes it accessible even in early summer when snow still lingers on most secured paths in the Dolomites.
