Description of mountain:
Dobrač, or in German Dobratsch and also known as Villacher Alpen, is a 2166-meter-high mountain situated on the far eastern edge of the Gailtal Alps, or west of Villach / Beljak. The mountain has two approximately equally high peaks about 30 meters apart. The eastern peak hosts the German church, one of the highest-lying churches in the Alps and Europe, while the western peak has a cross, and just below it the Slovenian church dedicated to the Assumption of Mary.
Just a few dozen meters below both summits is the Ludvig-Walter Hütte mountain hut, near which stands a 160-meter-high TV tower visible from afar.
From both peaks, beautiful panoramic views extend far in all directions, with the finest vistas towards the Julian Alps, Karawanks, Carnic Alps, Gailtal Alps, Gurktal Alps, and High and Low Tauern.
