Description of mountain:
Veliki Klek, or Großglockner in German, is Austria's highest peak at 3,798 meters and the tallest in the High Tauern. From the summit cross, fine views cover much of Austria; on clear days, they reach into Slovenia, revealing the Julian Alps, Karawanks, and parts of the Kamnik Savinja Alps.
Due to its relatively difficult access, the peak is only attainable by experienced mountaineers with proper equipment. Below Veliki Klek (Großglockner) lies one of Europe's largest glaciers (Pastirica or Pasterze in German), over 160 meters thick in places.
Both the glacier and Großglockner are clearly visible from the Großglockner-Hochalpenstraße alpine road, which climbs to 2,572 meters.
