Description of mountain:
Hochalmspitze (also Hochalmer), often called the queen of the High Tauern, is at 3,360 meters the highest mountain in the Ankogel group. Built of granite and surrounded by numerous glaciers, the summit bears a large cross with very nice views over much of the High Tauern; the Julian Alps and Dolomites are also clearly visible. According to known records, it was first ascended by Paul Grohmann in 1859.
