Krekovše

Description of mountain hut:
Krekovše is a pass on the ridge of the Idrija Hills, separating the valleys (gorges) of the Idrijca to the north and Belca to the south. Northwest of the pass rises Vrh Bata (935 m), southeast Osrednik (866 m); both are forested. Several unmarked paths and forest roads converge at the pass, over which the Slovenian mountain bike trail also runs; it is most likely visited in connection with the klavže on Belca and/or Idrijski Lauf along the Idrijca, both just below the ridge. In addition to a few houses, there is a hunting hut owned by LD Krekovše with some tables around it; nearby are a simple chapel and a memorial plaque for 27 hostages shot by the occupier on April 1, 1945. Views from the pass itself are limited; better ones are available from some access paths.
