Monte Mia / Mija

Description of mountain:
Mija (Monte Mia) is a 1237-metre-high peak above the valley of the Nadiža River. The forested peak lies on the Italian side of the border, while its northern slopes are in Slovenia. From the vantage point in the immediate vicinity of the summit there is a fine view, especially to the south, where the valley of the Nadiža River and Matajur are clearly visible. On the summit, which is located in the forest, there is a large cairn; at the vantage point, reached by a marked path, there is a sign with the peak’s name, a panorama board and a small cross.
