Description of mountain:
Monte Sief (also Sief or Spiz de le Seleghe) is a 2,424-meter-high mountain located west of the Valparola and Falzarego passes. The summit is important mainly from a historical viewpoint, as battles took place here during World War I. The mountain features numerous military trenches and tunnels that have been nicely restored. On the ridge near the summit, a huge crater is visible, formed by the explosion of more than 45 tons of explosives. From the top, there is otherwise a very nice view of the Sella, Marmolada and Tofana groups.
