Rifugio A.N.A. Monteaperta

Description of hut:
The Viškoroša Shelter (Italian: Rifugio A.N.A. Monteaperta) is located at an altitude of 1465 meters on the northern slopes in the western part of the Stol or Muzci ridge, which is considered the longest ridge in the Julian Alps. The hut is a renovated military facility that also served as a military hospital during the First World War. Today the hut is divided into two parts, namely a bivouac and a mountain hut. The hut is currently permanently closed until a new manager for the hut is found (information July 2026). However, the large bivouac is permanently open.
