Description of mountain:
Roda di Vael (German: Rotwand) is a 2,806-meter-high mountain in the Catinaccio (Rosengarten) group. The mountain is recognizable mainly by its southwest face, which makes it especially popular among climbers. From the summit, where a large cross stands, there is a very nice view of most of the Catinaccio group, and the view of the nearby Latemar as well as the Sella and Marmolada groups is also nice.
