Description of hut:
Alpengasthof Sabathy is a popular mountain hut at an altitude of 1620 meters, located in the heart of the Zirbenland region within the Seetaler Alpen area. The hut stands approximately 3 kilometers west of the village of Mönchegg or the settlement of Sankt Wolfgang.
It is surrounded by beautiful, fragrant mountain forests of Swiss pine and offers an authentic local alpine atmosphere and comfort. Thanks to its easy car access, the hut serves as an excellent base for short family walks, mountain biking, summer ascents to nearby peaks, and winter ski touring or cross-country skiing.
The spacious inn serves traditional Austrian regional specialties made from local ingredients, and you can also try their house specialty – homemade Swiss pine beer (Zirm-Bier). A small campsite (Almcamping) and a shop selling local Swiss pine products are also available at the hut.
Right next to the mountain hut stands the Herz-Jesu-Kapelle chapel, built in 2014. This beautiful chapel offers a solemn and special setting, making it a popular venue for outdoor weddings and church blessings with views of the surroundings.
