Description of mountain:
Sabotin is a hill above Nova Gorica or more specifically above Solkan. Despite its modest height, it is a very good viewpoint with a view on Julian Alps, river Soča, basin Goriška kotlina, Kras, sea, Friulian plain and more western Alps. It is interesting also from a historical perspective, because here were the worst battles in the first world war (because Sabotin has numerous military tunnels). Below it over the river Soča spans a railway bridge with the largest stone arch in the world, which was built still under Austria-Hungary in the year 1906, as a key structure on second railway connection between Trst and Vienna.
