Bistrica with its source Pod Luknjo is the strongest tributary of the Sava Bohinjka. The stream that flows through Bohinjska Bistrica draws its water from the Lower Bohinj Mountains.
The Bistrica source, with its crystal-clear water, also supplies the water supply for Bohinjska Bistrica.
