Description of mountain:
The Turška jama cave in Gozdašnica is 18 meters long and up to 2 meters deep rocky cavity or rock shelter, known as a "kevderc" with free access. It is located at 835 m.a.s.l. on the southwestern slope of Gozdašnica hill above the Karawanks valley of Zavrh (Završnica). Some sources mention the cave as a "medieval cave castle", while its folk name is "Turška jama". It is a nice and well-preserved example of a fortified cave shelter, most likely built in the 13th century and used in the 15th and 16th centuries for hiding and defense against the Turks during their incursions into Koroška. From a smaller viewpoint above the cave, views open up toward the villages of Moste, Breg, and Zasip, and the Zavrh valley below.
