Smolnik

Description of mountain:
Smolnik is a steep 1075-meter-high peak – a solitary summit below Valvasorjev dom hut – rising above the Zavrh (Završnica) valley, with views of Stol, Jelovica, and the Ljubljana Basin. It has two benches for meditation and enjoying the view. This eastern neighbor of the better-known and slightly lower Ajdna – a "stone gem" as some like to call it – is an intermediate destination for many hikers heading to Valvasorjev dom from Poljane in Završnica, mainly due to the view unavailable elsewhere nearby. Many take it as the final goal of their hike.
