Turul Emlekmű is the largest eagle monument in Eastern Europe. It is located above the town of Tatabánya in Hungary, about 50 km from Budapest. This eagle is also a symbol of the mining town of Tatabánya and one of the most visited tourist spots in the town. It stands on the western slopes of the Gerecse Mountains, which end above the town. Several via ferratas have been built on the steep slopes, which are extremely popular and frequented due to their proximity to Budapest. From the monument there is an exceptional view of the town of Tatabánya, the town of Oroszlány, and the surroundings.
