Hundscharte is a saddle at an altitude of 2471 meters located in the Lower Tauern mountain range. The saddle is located 0.3 km north-northwest of peak Hundstein. The nearest mountain hut is Keinprechthütte, located 4km north-northeast. A bit closer is bivouac Samerhütterl, which is located 1.8km to the east-southeast. North of the saddle is the valley Obertal.
