The saddle is located in country Austria 6 km south-southeast from the center of Namlos and 6 km east-northeast from the center of Boden. The nearest mountain hut is Anhalter Hütte, located 0.9km west-southwest. And bivouac Rudighütte is also close by. The saddle is located above the valley Plötzigtal. The saddle is located below the ridge Heiterwand.
