Rote Scharte is a saddle at an altitude of 2099 meters located in the Lower Tauern mountain range. The saddle is located in country Austria 1.9 km east of peak Hochwildstelle. The nearest mountain hut is Breitlahnhütte, located 3km southeast. A little further is Kotalm. South-southeast of the saddle is the valley Rantengraben.
