Almersäulen is 2613 meter high peak and is part of the Rieserferner Group. The peak is located 8 km east-northeast from the center of Antholz Obertal - Anterselva di Sopra and 9 km north-northwest from the center of St. Magdalena - Santa Maddalena in Casies. The nearest mountain hut is Patscher Hütte, located 2km north-northeast. A little further is bivouac Schießstand Jagdverein St. Jakob. 5 km northwest of the peak there is lake Sankt-Josef-See. 5 km west-northwest from the summit there is glacier Lenksteinferner - Vedretta di Sasso Lungo, 6 km west from the summit there is also glacier Hochgall Ferner - Vedretta di Collalto.
