Atemkogel is 3011 meter high peak and is part of the Ötztal Alps. The peak is located 10 km south-southwest from the center of Feichten and 11 km south-southwest from the center of Kaunertal. The nearest mountain hut is Nassereiner Alm, located 3km east-southeast. Watzeberg hunting lodge is a bit further away. 7 km east-southeast from the summit there is glacier Bliggferner. West-southwest of the summit is the valley Platzertal. The peak is located above the ridge Glockenturmkamm.
