Federeck is 1340 meter high peak and is part of the Upper Austrian Prealps. The peak is located 7 km northwest from the center of Weißenbach an der Enns and 7 km west-northwest from the center of Altenmarkt bei Sankt Gallen and 1.2 km south-southwest of peak Bodenwies. The nearest mountain hut is Schüttbauernalm, located 2km east-northeast. A little further is bivouac St. Gallen Steiner. The peak is located west of the valley Frenzgraben.
