Großer Asitz is 1914 meter high peak with a cross and is part of the Kitzbühel Alps. The peak is located 4 km southwest from the center of Rain and 5 km southwest from the center of Pirzbichl. The nearest mountain hut is Schönleitenhütte, located 0.5km west. Jausernalm is also relatively close. The peak is located northeast above the mountain pasture Poltenalm. South-southwest of the summit is the valley Vorderglemmtal and northeast above the mountain pasture Poltenalm.
