Description:
Großer Rauher Kopf is 2990 meter high peak with a cross and is part of the Ötztal Alps. The peak is located 3 km west-southwest of peak Schwarzwandspitze. The nearest mountain hut is Rauhekopfhütte, located 0.9km northeast. And bivouac Holzer Hütte is also close by. 6 km south from the summit there is glacier Langtauferer-Joch-Ferner, 6 km north-northeast from the summit there is also glacier Bliggferner. Northeast of the summit is the valley Taschachtal.
