Großer Tartscher Kopf - Monte di Tarres is 2961 meter high peak in the National Park Stelvio. The peak is located on the border between the country of Italy and the country of Switzerland. The nearest mountain hut is Berglhütte - Rifugio Borletti, located 4km southeast. A little further is bivouac Tschierfeck Biwak am Ortler. 5 km south from the summit there is glacier Ebenferner - Vedreta Piana, 6 km south-southeast from the summit there is also glacier Trafoier Ferner - Vedretta di Trafoi. The peak is located northwest of the valley Trafoital.
