Description:
Hinteres Sonnwendjoch is 1986 meter high peak with a cross in the Bavarian Prealps. The peak is located 7 km west from the center of Landl and 9 km west from the center of Hinterthiersee. The nearest mountain hut is Mariandlalm, located 7km east-northeast. A bit closer is Untere Schmaleggalm, which is located 4km to the southwest. The peak is located north-northeast above the mountain pasture Ehemalige Girgalalm. East-southeast of the summit is the valley Thierseetal and north-northeast above the mountain pasture Ehemalige Girgalalm.
