Kleiner Angerkogel is 1825 meter high peak and is part of the Dachstein Mountains. The peak is located 1.3 km southwest of peak Großer Schwarzkogel. The nearest mountain hut is Adamekhütte, located 4km south-southeast. A bit closer is Badstub'n Hütte, which is located 3km to the north-northwest. 6 km south-southeast from the summit there is glacier Großer Gosaugletscher, 9 km southeast from the summit there is also glacier Schladminger Gletscher. East-northeast of the summit is the valley Koppental.
