Kölnbreinspitze is 2934 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 7 km west-southwest from the center of Hintermuhr and 9 km west from the center of Muhr. The nearest mountain hut is Rotgüldenseehütte, located 3km east-northeast. A little further is bivouac Albert-Biwak. Northwest from the summit there is glacier Muritzenkees. West-southwest of the summit is the valley Maltatal.
