Kreuzkogel is 2688 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 5 km south-southwest from the center of Böckstein and 7 km south-southwest from the center of Bad Gastein. The nearest mountain hut is ÖBB Schutzhütte, located 2km north-northeast. A little further is Höhkaralm. 6 km west-southwest from the summit there is glacier Schapperebenkees. Southeast of the summit is the valley Seebachtal.
