Kreuzriegel is 614 meter high peak and is part of the Prealps East of the Mur. The peak is located 1.3 km south-southeast from the center of Bernstein and 2 km north from the center of Grodnau. Dreiländereckhütte is also relatively close. Northwest of the summit is the valley Schwarzgraben.
