Kruckenbrettl is 1020 meter high peakon which a cross stands and is part of the Upper Austrian Prealps. The peak is located 2 km north of peak Hochbuchberg. The nearest mountain hut is Brettmaisalm, located 2km south-southwest. A little further is bivouac Obergrünburg Haunoldmühle. East-southeast of the summit is the valley Neustiftgraben.
