Description:
Punta Giovanni Paolo II is 3307 meter high peak with a cross and is part of the Natural Park Adamello-Brenta. The peak is located 3 km west-northwest of peak Crozzon di Lares. The nearest mountain hut is Rifugio ai Caduti dell'Adamello, located 0.8km north-northeast. bivouac Bivacco G. Laeng is also relatively close. 5 km east-southeast of the peak there is lake Lago di Lares. 4 km northwest from the summit there is glacier Vedretta di Pisgana, 4 km north-northwest from the summit there is also glacier Pisganino. South of the summit is the valley Val di Fumo.
