Schoberkogel is 1079 meter high peak and is part of the Lavanttal Alps. The peak is located 1.2 km northeast from the center of Sankt Peter im Lavanttal and 1.8 km northeast from the center of Reichenfels. The nearest mountain hut is Peterer Hütte, located 5km east. A little further is Gugl Hütte. The peak is located east of the valley Görtschitztal.
