As far as I know, the hut on Nanos is open in winter on Friday afternoons and over the weekend. From the end of April onwards every day except Thursday. On the PD Postojna website it says: In case of bad weather or impassable road the hut is closed.

Two-day trip to Jalovec: Flori - shelter under Špička - sleep in winter room - Jalovec - past the shelter under Špička back to the valley. Path without special features, nicely marked and secured.

Just for info or consideration - the unfortunate hiker had crampons on per eyewitnesses (if he had ice axe too maybe he could stop the slip)

I also met the "gentleman in Adidas" yesterday when returning from Nanos. He just laughed at the remark about inappropriate footwear - speechless
But the hiker's slip was a big shock for all who were/we were nearby at that moment...

Today on Vremščica noticeably less sun, and also visitors (at least in the morning). The path or trail from Volč direction is somewhat frozen at the beginning, otherwise with some more zigzags than usual passable without major issues (especially for those with long legs)

Today visited Pekel gorge for the first time; enthusiastic about part of nature, disappointed about part of people - the path could be (should be) much better marked.
